Epic Street Trash





It's everywhere: all along the Shore Road Promenade; along 3rd Avenue; in
the parking lot at Walgreen's; even on my normally clean block: street
trash. Juice cartons, empty bottles, wrapping paper, plastic utensils, takeout bags, lottery tickets, layin' in the street, piled up along the curb, in the middle
of the sidewalk, thrown down next to street trees.

More Street Trash Pickups



Effective immediately, the city's Department of Sanitation, through a deal worked out with City Council Member Vinnie Gentile, City Council Finance Chair Dominic Recchia and other local elected representatives, will begin emptying trash bins four days a week on 3rd Avenue and non-BID sections of 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge and 13th Avenue in Dyker Heights.

Expect extra pickups at these locations
