Reported Sale of 203 Ninth Street Alarms Preservationists



According to an e-mail blast from the Society of Old Brooklynites, the news, according to the former owner, that a developer has bought 203 Ninth Street, an abandoned industrial building next to a site being explored as a historic monument and public park, has set off alarms within the local preservation community.

Planning Begins for Marylander Memorial Park

During the Battle of Brooklyn in August, 1776, two hundred and fifty-six Maryland infantrymen fell heroically near the Cornelius Van Brunt homestead in today's Gowanus/Park Slope fighting an audacious rear-guard action against the British Army.
