On November 7, the city Department of Buildings, the Fire Department and the Environmental Control Board converged on an empty condo building designed by architect Robert Scarano at 165 9th Street in Carroll Gardens.

Update from the Coalition for Carroll Gardens

Homeless housing profiteer Alan Lapes has requested an extension to reply to a list of objections and the proposed revocation by the city Department of Buildings of a permit for 165 West 9th Street in Carroll Gardens.

The permit allows Lapes to alter the ten-unit condo building for use as a 170-bed homeless shelter for men.
