The New R Train Commute

I was surprised to see, at the Bay Ridge Avenue R station today, that the MTA had put up a new sign on the Manhattan-bound side saying "Court Street."

The R train is now a shuttle to downtown Brooklyn! But its shorter route doesn't seem to have translated into more frequent service.

Like a lot of other Bay Ridge residents, I've allowed my commute to default to the R train shuttle+transfer
